Thailand Visa & Passport Photo – 35 × 45mm

Thailand uses 35 × 45mm for both passport and visa photos — the common international standard, which makes it one of the more straightforward specifications in the region.

At 300 DPI that is 413 × 531 pixels. Resize to it below.

Thai photo requirements

For Thai passports and for visa applications to Thailand:

  • Size: 35 × 45mm (3.5 × 4.5 cm), portrait.
  • Colour only — black and white photographs are not accepted.
  • Background: plain white.
  • Face coverage: 70–80% of the frame, roughly 32–36mm chin to crown.
  • Taken within the last 6 months.
  • Neutral expression, mouth closed, no hair covering the eyebrows or eyes.
  • Usually two identical copies for a paper application.

Thai e-Visa uploads

Applications through the Thai e-Visa system want a digital file rather than a print. The dimensions are the same 7:9 ratio, and 413 × 531 pixels satisfies it comfortably; some consulates ask for a larger file, in which case scale both numbers proportionally rather than changing the shape.

If the portal imposes a byte limit, set your dimensions first and then compress to the limit, so the shape stays correct.

Two photos, identical

Paper applications typically require two identical photographs. Resize once and print twice from the same file — two separately cropped photos will differ slightly and can be queried.

Print at 100% scale with any "fit to page" option disabled, or the physical measurement will be off even though the file is correct.
